Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah, an Indian actress and musician, is best known for her roles in Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Her debut as an actress was the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam, and her Malayalam debut with Annayum is in the film. Andrea Jeremiah was born in Anglo-Indian born at Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is an attorney in the Madras High Court. Andrea is the youngest sister of a researcher assistant who lives in Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea was able to learn the piano classically in her 8th year. She joined The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars aged 10. The group was the beginning of the foundation for her music and singing career. She was an actor at her university and participated in several productions through The Madras Players, EVAM and various theatre organizations. Andrea was President of the Student Senate at Women's Christian College. Andrea started her career in theatre with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she appeared in a new leo advertisement with actor Shiva. She also acted in a TV serial that aired on Podhigai. She acted throughout India. She played a brief role during the climax of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham Vaisudev menon was able to have her sing in the film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, then wanted her to take on in the role of a female character in Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea performed the role of Kalyani the wife who's husband is involved in an extramarital affair. Andrea was selected for the part following Simran and Tabu, two actresses who were approached by the producers. The film came out at the start of 2010. In August 2011 Venkat Prabhu launched his multi-starrer Mankatha. The film was commissioned to take on a lesser support role. Annayum Rasoolum by Rajeev Ravi, the romantic comedy she debuted in Malayalam in, was released on the 11th of August, 2013.
