Madekwe is from a multi-cultural household. Born within South London. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss and her mom is English. She attended The Brit School when she was 14 years old. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned a BA degree in acting. As a student at the academy was when she performed in various stage plays, including King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actor with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her popularity led her to play Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi who was the leading character in ITV2's show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred as the lead character for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy released in 2008. Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe first aired in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama program ran at The CW for only two episodes, but it was removed from the air. In February of 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' initial two seasons as an regular. But in May 2013, the news broke that Madekwe will be departing the show following her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba from 2014 until 2016. Madekwe married her long-time lover, Iddo. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with Madekwe in Salem.

Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty along with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's athletic brothers played baseball in summer as well as hockey in winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she would dance. When she was two and half, she found Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley competed in ballet, jazz and tap in the high divisions. Every important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and others, have awarded her with the distinction of "top soloist".
